WHAT DOES MORTICE AND TENON MEAN ?

MORTICE AND TENON JOINT - A joint where a hole or slot known as a mortice is formed in a piece of timber to receive the reduced end of similar size or tenon  from another piece. The joint is often secured with wedges, dowels or steel plates.THIS ENSURES THAT THE DOORS ARE CONSTRUCTED TO THE VERY HIGHST STANDARD .

WHAT DOES DOWELLED MEAN ?

A joint where the pieces of timber are joined by  USING FLUTED DOWELS AND MODERN ADHESIVES.

 

WHAT DOES TRIPLE GLAZED MEAN ?

TRIPLE GLAZED DOORS ALL FEATURE A ORNATE DECORATIVE CENTRE LAYER OF GLASS MADE UP OF HAND CUT PATTERNED AND BEVELLED PIECES WITH BRASS AND LEAD CAMING. THIS LAYER IS THEN SANDWICHED BETWEEN TWO LAYERS OF CLEAR GLASS TO GIVE A SMOOTH FINISH. THE TRIPLE GLAZED UNIT GIVES ADDED INSULATION IN COLD WEATHER AND CONFORMS TO BRITISH SAFETY STANDARD BS6206(A)

WHAT IS PAINT AND PEEL ?

It is a system designed to make sealing, staining, or painting your
door a quick and easy procedure.
 
Step One
Paint, or stain the door as directed by the finishing instructions. The film over the glass protects against streaks, runs or splashes.

 
Step Two
When the finish is complete, simply, by using a craft knife, cut around the glass aperture, ensuring the masking film is cut in the corners.

 
Step Three
Peel off the film from the glass surface – leaving a smooth edge to the finish, and pristine glass.

WHAT IS A VENEER ?

A VENEER IS A THIN LAYER OF WOOD WHICH IS GLUED OVER A SOLID CORE WHICH CREATES A STRONG STABLE PRODUCT.

Finishing A doors with a real wood veneer provides a greater uniform in colour and improves the appearance of the door.
